This work represents the beginning of a series of experiments in cork. A non traditional painting base. Cork tiles are a readily available floor tile, man made from a natural product. They come in a range of styles and colours, that would normally not be considered for anything other than walking on. I am interested in elevating overlooked or professionally used objects to work with and to let the texture of the product become part of the work.
